Memory Work

After memorizing the assigned passage, you have two choices. You may arrive early 4 to 4:15 PM on Thursday afternoon to speak your assignment to th Pastor, or Phone into the church office by calling the 24 hour voicemail at 312.642.7172 ext 23. Please recite your memory work into the phone and then have a second person verify by speaking into the phone that they witnessed that you did not read the passage, but had it memorized. This person can be an adult, another confirmation student, or a sibling.

Sermon Notes

While attending a Service of Worship, you will complete the Sermon Notes form. Please complete one of these each month until you are confirmed. Please give these to Deaconess Nunes by putting them on her office chair or slipping them underneath her door.

Service hours

Definition: God has created us all with special and unique gifts and abilities. Serving others is another way to love Christ, and to put your love into action. As your faith grows during confirmation classes, we want your love to grow as well, through serving others. Please read the following opportunities for service in the categories below. We are encouraging you to get involved with people at your church. If you have an idea for service that is not found below please suggest it to th Pastor. Please make sure to get approval before serving in any of these capacities so that your work can be recorded.

Options for Service

Worship:

Fellowship:

Greeter: arrive 15 minutes before worship and stand at the door to greet people as they come to church   Pour coffee or juice on Sunday Morning   Sell books before 8:30 service/or after 11AM	Assist at a church event: Christmas Concert Reception - in December   Help with a Wednesday evening Soup Supper   Help with book and ticket sales	Assist guests that come to eat at Community meals.   Attend the new members dinner   Help with the collection of food and other items for the various ministries we support	Calls to the elderly, the sick or homebound. Making weekly calls to say hello and befriend a person in the congregation.   Serve on a Community Meals team

Maintenance:

Carry out garbage following an event	Assist with table and chair set up on Saturday following community meals, or Sunday morning   Vacuum the church offices	Rake and sweep the patio   Shovel snow in front of the church   Clean toys in the nursery	Help with cleanup at Wunders Cemetery

Larger projects:

Food Drive: write article for Newsletter, list donations, take food to Chicago Uptown Ministry	Jr. Youth Group: help to plan, organize or serve at an event
Sock Drive: collect white tube socks at your school, or in your neighborhood for Foot Clinic	Cut grocery bags for sleeping mat project, create balls, crochet into mats
