First Saint Paul’s is delighted to host the first in a series of concerts by the Chicago Choral Artists on Saturday, October 7th at 7:30 p.m. This performance features Der Schwangesang (Swan Song) by German composer Heinrich Schütz based on Psalm 119, the Magnificat, and Psalm 100. The concert is presented by CCA Kammerchor, an ensemble of sixteen singers from the Chicago Choral Artists roster, organist Mark Schuldiner, gambist Anna Steinhoff, and bassist Jerry Fuller.
Chicago Choral Artists, formerly known as the James Chorale, is an ensemble of talented musicians who have been presenting innovative music to Chicago audiences for nearly 40 years. They perform under the artistic direction of Michael D. Costello. For many years the James Chorale was under the direction of James Rogner, former music director at First Saint Paul’s.
You can purchase tickets at First Saint Paul’s before the show for $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $10 for students. Download a parking pass here to park for free just two blocks west of the church in the Franklin School lot on W Goethe St.
We are happy to announce that CCA is donating two tickets to their October 7 and December 16 concerts at First Saint Paul's to the silent auction at First Saint Paul’s Oktoberfest on September 23.
