Children

First Communion Classes (third through fifth grades)
Considered a prerequisite for confirmation, children in third through fifth grades along with youth who have not yet completed this class are encouraged to attend. At least two of these classes are attended by both the children and their parents. There is a lot of time for open discussion about the Lord's Table, and what the children will experience there.

This class prepares children for the communion table by teaching about the meaning of the sacrament, and its Biblical foundation in both the Old and New Testaments. Upon completion of this class, children should be able to verbalize that God's love and forgiveness is present in the sacrament, and answer questions from Luther's Small Catechism.

Toddlin' to Jesus (infants through three-year olds)

Sunday School (three-year olds through junior high)
Classes are specially geared to the age of the student. Young children are assured God's love, despite their sins and failures. Older children are reminded that God's justice is different than the justice found in our world, for our salvation depends not on anything that we have done or will do, but only on the suffering, death, and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Teenagers discuss balancing God's expectations and judgments with those of their parents and peers, as they continue to develop their unique identities.
