Following a more than 40-year tradition, the First Saint Paul's Church Choir featuring soloists and orchestra, will present their annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 18 at 4 PM in the church sanctuary. Admission is free.
The First Saint Paul’s 2016 Christmas Concert program features seasonal music including the lovely Christmas Day by Gustav Holst based on familiar carols and selections from Handel’s Messiah. In recognition of the upcoming 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the program also features selections by composers directly influenced by the Reformation movement.
The choir, soloists, and orchestra—under the direction of Steven Wente, cantor and music director at First Saint Paul's and accompanied on the organ by associate Cantor Margaret Danilovich—will also lead the assembly in familiar hymns and carols.
Everyone is invited to join in fellowship with musicians and guests at a candlelight reception following the concert. Free parking is available at the nearby Franklin School parking lot, just west of N Wells St between W Goethe St and W Evergreen Ave.
