The Augsburg Confession—The Exposition of the Christian Faith the Reformers were willing to die for

One week ago today, on June 4, 1530, Phillip Melanchthon presented Emperor Charles V with the reformers’ reformational understanding of the Gospel in the Augsburg Confession.

During today’s Adult Bible Class, Pastor Johnson shares the history of the Augsburg Confession, the Roman Catholic response in the Confutation, and the Lutheran defense in the Apology of the Augsburg Confession, and discusses why it was such a relevant event in the history of the Church and politics.

This is a pivotal moment in history, world politics, and religion. Were it not for the courage of these princes and reformers, we may not have ever had the freedom to worship as we enjoy today.
