Community Meals Part of our community outreach includes feeding the hungry, homeless, senior citizens, children, and disadvantaged of our neighborhood. Each Saturday, a team of both member and nonmember volunteers work to prepare noontime meals for approximately 150 people on a six-week rotational basis. Volunteers are needed to greet guests, assemble food items, prepare and serve meals, and clean up. Substitutes are needed to fill in on a one-time, short- or long-term basis.

Fellowship and Hospitality Responsible for the food service-related functions of First Saint Paul's such as the Christmas concerts, the group puts together events from start to finish. Opportunities include, but are not limited to cooking, decorating, party planning, publicity, serving, set-up/take-down, shopping, and orchestrating teamwork to make events a success.

Human Care Ministry Human care ministry is a vital part of our ministry for those inside and outside the church walls. The group works to strengthen both the congregation and friends of First Saint Paul's through prayer, voluntary and/or monetary support to the church, and community organizations.
Opportunities include chairperson, Chicago Uptown Ministry liaison, Bethel Lutheran School liaison, Community Meals chairperson, Lenten caring & sharing coordinator, Chicago Food Depository liaison, Chicago Food Depository volunteers, Holy Family liaison, Deborah's Place liaison, and congregational health liaison.

Outreach Working as an extension of the church to draw people in, the group acts as a liaison between the community and the congregation. Its purpose is to inform the community of congregational events, while informing the congregation of community needs and trends.
